Gyrotonic® For Golf
Gyrotonic® training gives golfers the best combination possible for both strength and flexibility training. The exercises performed with this program can greatly benefit golfers no matter their age or fitness level.
Gyrotonic® exercises work for people of all handicap levels as well.
Some golfers focus on conventional strength trainin but that has it’s limitations. We believe that flexibility exercises aren’t stressed enough and that golfers (and other athletes) can benefit greatly from their strength training if they have also incorporated stretching exercises as well.
We believe that both strengthening and flexiblity exercises are needed to help athletes perform their sport to their best abilities.
It’s been our experience in working with our patients who play golf and tennis and soccer and other sports that their frustrations in how they play their sport is usually directly correlated to their levels of strength and flexibility both.
Improving your golf swing takes strength, yes but it also requires a fair amount of flexibility as well.
We’re here to tell you that the Gyrotonic® method can help you.

More About Gyrotonic®
The Gyrotonic® method has been in existence for more than twenty years and has been recognized as an exercise system for both the athlete and the layperson.
This wonderful set of exercises was created by Juliu Horvath specifically for dancers who rely on both strength and flexibility to perform their art. As a multi talenged athlete himself, he based his sets of movements on the fundamentals of all the training that he himself received such as ballet, gymnastics, swimming, martial arts and yoga.
Gyrotonic® has been discovered by a more mainstream population and is rapidly becoming a popular form of exercise for athletes and weekend warriors.
It is performed on a specialized pieces of equipment and accessories that come equipped with their own specifically designed sets of weights, straps and pulleys.
Similar to what you might see on Pilates equipment, but altered to accommodate the overall goal which is to improve flexibility.
Gyrotonic® different from other forms of exercise is that it accentuates flowing movements (think of Ballet) which are spiraling and circular in nature.
We have found that repeating these measured and smooth movements slowly throughout the session helps greatly to increase the fluidity of the movements needed to swing a golf club effectively.
Adding focused breathing throughout the session (very much like Pilates and Yoga) further improves the overall experience.
Our patients have told us that after each session, not only do their bodies feel better but that they have an overall feeling of calmness as well.
